Dear Parents

The majority have already heard that Governor Parsons extended the school closure through the end of the year (May 19-final day for students).  Aurora R-VIII personnel will continue providing alternative educational opportunities to the best of our ability.  Even with support, this time will be difficult for students, parents and teachers.

As of now, there are many questions that remain unanswered.  Among these are graduation for seniors and Summer School.  Both of these issues are still being discussed.  Hopefully, guidance regarding Summer School will soon be given by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in conjunction with local health departments.

Ideas regarding graduation will be considered and district personnel are planning on administering a survey to graduates/parents to obtain feedback regarding a future decision.  Meal delivery will continue, Monday through Friday (8:00 a.m to 12:00 noon and 3 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.), at the Robinson Elementary entry.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to progress through this situation.  Better days are ahead!  Stay safe and healthy.
